Can you make snow using an ice cream maker?

I want to make some snow on which to pour hot maple syrup (for old fashioned maple syrup candy on snow, with pickles after!), and I have an ice cream maker... will it make something resembling snow if I just put water in? Or will it make hard ice and ruin the ice cream maker? The maker is a cuisinart kind where you freeze the inner container. Anybody try this before or have ideas? Thanks!!Can you make snow using an ice cream maker?
I don't think it'll work, I don't think it'll get cold enough to freeze enough.

However, if you have a shaved ice maker, that will make ';snow';.Can you make snow using an ice cream maker?
Not to sure I don't think it is a good idea to put water in you ice cream maker. It will just turn into one big chunk of ice. The best suggestion I have is to put ice cubes in the blender and crush.
